I. Accessibility of the Faculty Law Library of the Jagiellonian University (Wróblewski College), 2 Olszewskiego Street.

  1. Access by public transport to the intersection of Franciszkańska, Straszewskiego and Zwierzyniecka streets - stop 'Filharmonia', streetcar lines: 1, 2, 4, 6, 8, 13, 14, 18, 20, 24. Pedestrian crossings are equipped with traffic lights and adapted for people with disabilities.
  2. The building does not have its own parking lot. disabilities. There is paid parking available near by, with the handicap zone.
  3. The entrance to the Wróblewski Collegium is located on the Planty side. Access for people with mobility impairments is possible from Wislna Street or Jagiellonska Street. The building is located behind the property gate. The two-wing entrance door to the building opens manually. There is a button on the right side of the door which is used to notify gatehouse staff of the need for assistance in opening the door.
  4. Service dogs/assistance dogs are welcome and water for animals is provided.

II. Location of library premises and improvements in the building

 

  1. Across the entrance in the lobby of the building there is a porter's lodge for assistance and necessary information. Vertical communication in the building is provided by an elevator - in the corridor to the left of the main lobby.
  2. The Faculty Law Library occupies rooms on the first floor on the left side of the building. They are accessed by a corridor to the left of the main hall, on the first floor, without steps. On the walls of this corridor on the right side are arrows directing to the reading room, lending room and catalog. There are no thresholds that impede the movement of readers through the library, except 3 cm high threshold in the door to the lending room. The librarian at the desk located on the right side, close to the entrance, helps to cross the threshold if necessary.
  3. In the corridor opposite the entrance to the reading room there are lockable lockers for storing personal belongings of people using the reading room. Keys to the lockers and possible assistance can be obtained from the reading room.
  4. On the left side of the entrance to the reading room, a toilet for people with special needs is located.
  5. Library staff have been trained to assist people with special needs and disabilities.

III. Offer and facilities for access to the library and information collections and services

 

  1. The place to work, adapted to the needs of people with mobility disabilities (a desk with adjustable height) is in the reading room, and it is also possible to rent a laptop.
  2. In the reading room of the WBP there is a workstation prepared for people with visual disorders - a computer with appropriate software and earphones to listen to the text. You can also use your own headphones.
  3. The reading room is equipped with a professional scanner with OCR (optical character recognition). 
  4. It is possible to provide an induction loop for hearing-impaired persons, after notifying such a need by email or phone to the lending room or reading room of WBP with (at least) one day's notice. 
  5. In the reading room, a person can use all book and magazine collections on the spot, from the handy stock ( free access), as well as by ordering needed items from the library's stock. Such orders can be placed in advance remotely through the library system, or on the spot with the librarian on duty. 
  6. From the library to the outside, you can borrow books that are the resources of the lending library, located in two rooms on shelves in free access. If necessary, the employee on duty will provide assistance in carrying out the loan.
  7. As part of the UJ network access-on their own devices or from any terminals in the reading room, lending library or catalog-the user can use more than 100 full-text databases subscribed to by UJ, including legal databases purchased by the UJ Faculty of Law and Administration for its students and staff. In addition, he can use the Jagiellonian Digital Library. The list of legal databases and detailed rules of access.
  8. From a dedicated terminal in the reading room, it is possible to access the 'Academica' system - a digital lending library of books and scientific journals from the collections of the National Library. The service requires activation of an account in the 'Academica' system, available after reporting such a need to the librarian.
  9. For UJ students with special needs for access to teaching materials, the offer to use the collections of the ABC library (Academic Digital Library) and the 'Hamlet' program is addressed.
